Day 37 #100horsesbyroxanne
I was going to do some more 'shadow mapping' today but opted to move away from the horse's head for a while and start looking at the entire body. I'm going back to basics, as I did at the very beginning of the project, and making anatomical drawings. I knew that this stage was going to be hard but just how hard, I wasn't sure.
Today's drawing may not look as though it took very long to do but it took forever to get all the proportions correct and everything in the right place but there is still room for improvement. However, considering I've never drawn the full skeleton before I'm really pleased with the way it's turned out.
I do continue to believe that by understanding the skeletal structure of the horse, even if only very basic, it'll help my drawing enormously. The knowledge gained from studying its anatomy will hopefully support my work and will pave the way for stronger drawings both in proportions and expression of movement.
