Day 23 #100horsesbyroxanne
Like yesterday's piece I'm observing the horse's head from another angle but this time it's a rather dramatic depiction of the head. I'm really enjoying the expressive pencil marks which help to convey the movement of the horse. The image is solid, powerful and full of energy and it's this kind of action that I hope to include in my personal work. Again, I'm using graphite, pastel and an eraser for this one.
The drawing feels different to my usual work. It appears more stylised. It reminds me of one of those old Roman friezes. Some of those Roman friezes were quite theatrical so maybe it's due to the drama of the image itself and the hard edges which are perhaps making me think of this comparison? What do you think? Please feel free to leave a comment below. I'd love to know your thoughts 🤔
